SENSITRON: A young Company with great ideas
|
|
|
Dr. Giacomo Frigo founded
SENSITRON S.r.l. in 1988 with the mission to becoming an international
reference point for industrial toxic and inflammable gas detection. Sensitron S.r.l., based in
Cornaredo, Italy, for years has been committed with the research and
development of flammable and toxic gas detectors and has, in a very short
time, ranked among the European market Leaders. The development of highly
reliable sensors, the systematic use of
microprocessor technology, the compliance with European standards and the quality
procedures adopted, guarantee one of the best and largest product ranges
in the worldwide gas detection market. In anticipation to the
ATEX Directive 94/9/CE compulsory starting from July 1, 2003, Sensitron
gas detectors have been ATEX certified since December 2001. Sensitron has been the
first Italian manufacturer of gas detection systems to obtain the
following certificates: CESI
01 ATEX 086Q Production
Quality Assurance CESI
01 ATEX 053
Safety Electrical Requirements (IEC 60079-0-1)) CESI
03 ATEX 339
Safety
Electrical Requirements (IEC 60079-15)) CESI
02 ATEX 084 Performance requirements (IEC 60079-29-1&4) This last certificate
refers to the detectors performance and assures the quality and the high
features a gas detector has to offer. In addition to the above,
we are about to launch on the market an even more enhanced gas detection
system designed according to the new standard
EN50402. Indeed, the ATEX 94/9/EC directive states that type
testing according to function and accuracy are compulsory all over Europe.
It details unified performance features but doesn’t consider requirement
for a fail safe function of the system. This new standard EN
50402 opens the possibility of approving the functional safety of a
complex gas detection system, evaluating the functional safety of the
different modules it consists of, thus obtaining its SIL
(Safety Integrity Levels). To offer fail safe systems
is our new goal. The Multisystem control panel and our new hi-tech
detectors have been designed to fulfil the SIL
requirements
described in the EN50402. Sensitron is also aware of
a market share where quality products and cost effective prices represent
a major selling key-point, like the innovative product Cyber 3, especially
designed for car park applications where the
accuracy of a microprocessor based electronics and professional
electrochemical cell are offered at extremely competitive prices. The particular commitment
to the European standards has never prevented Sensitron from paying a
particular attention to the Far East markets. A proof of our dynamism is
the creation of a representative office in Beijing and the Chinese
certificates we got on our products, CBTS for the SMART3 performance and CEC for the safety electrical requirements. Sensitron got UNI EN ISO 9001 certification in February 1997, implemented as ISO 9001:2000 since December 2002. The management and all the staff consider the certifications and the standards as the fundamental point in guaranteeing the customer a product and service which will be consistent in time. |
