Within engine rooms, the most common hazards come from possible combustible gas leaks, toxic gas accumulation, poor ventilation or accidental chemical reactions.
Gas detection within machine rooms is critical to ensure operator safety and prevent accidents such as fires, explosions and poisonings. Gas detection sensors enable effective monitoring, improving protection within machine rooms.
Among the most commonly detected gases are methane and hydrogen, both highly flammable, and carbon monoxide, which is extremely toxic. Other dangerous gases include hydrogen sulfide, recognizable by its pungent odor; ammonia, used in refrigeration systems; and carbon dioxide, which can cause asphyxiation. Detectors, both stationary and portable, are equipped with advanced sensors to constantly monitor the environment, triggering alarms and ventilation systems in case of danger.
The SMART3 R is made for use in unclassified areas.
